The Artists

Living near Chicago IL, I have been able to go to the city and experience Urban Culture up close from the galleries, and stores, to the streets. A friend had told me that, "Hip hop was more than just music, it has elements, and is a culture...a movement, and graffiti is the artistic and visual expression of this movement." I love graffiti art, I think it is beautiful and inspiring, when I see it on a train, I think to myself, why don't they have someone paint trains and buildings like this in the first place!

Visually to me, urban art is appealing, colorful, and beautiful, and it gives people an outlet in their lives to express themselves.

Urban Culture has influenced my art personally, by being the inspiration for my art. The model I used, the spray paint techniques that I see in urban art, the city line of Chicago that I have drawn, and just the over all feel to my piece.

		Angel D'Amico Graduated from Northern Illinois University majoring in Visual Communication in 2005, Angel is on a mission to succeed whatever she puts her mind to.
