Stacy Wilson
Mixed Medium + Illustration on Wood
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Whether working with computers, canvas or people, Stacey is the epitome of a multi-tasker; she is a highly acclaimed graphic designer, flourishing artist, widely sought after promoter and owner and creator of Flygirrl. She attained her love for drawing, illustrating and painting while studying graphic design at Philadelphia's Hussian School of Art, and began her design career creating promotional materials for the entertainment and restaurant industries. Her current client roster includes Dyana Williams, The Sound of Philladelphia (TSOP), Warmdaddy's and Zanzibar Blue, to name a few.

With one door opening after another, Stacey's next venture in life was to start a promotion and event planning company, Squarebiz (www.squarebiz.org) along with her partner, Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson of The Roots. Her renowned organization has worldwide fans, as she has produced events with super-stars Prince, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Gangstarr, KRS-One, Louie Vega and Beverly Bond among others as well as branding a merchandise line, those infamous "jawn" t-shirts.
Stacey's skill became more and more a part of her life as her acrylic and ink works of urban/comic book/graffiti-esque art came sneaking out on the scene. Her much admired works on wood, canvas and sneakers have been featured on the walls of MTV's The Real World Philadelphia house and on UPN 57's Half and Half, the pages of Jill Scott's book of poetry, The Moments, The Minutes, The Hours, and a pair of Air Force Ones for Nike's Sneak Pimp Tour.

Bringing all of her talents together was what created Flygirrl a place where art, design and ground breaking promotions come together with style. For the online store, updated events list, or further information about Stacey Wilson and Flygirrl, please visit www.flygirrl.com.

I paint what I know. Living in the city in a scene that celebrates hip-hop and individuality to be who and what you are gives you awesome perspective and interpretation of the people around you. My art is merely a reflection of who and what I live everyday in the city.
